Biography
Walden Welch was a California Astrologer and Psychic. His career began at the age of seventeen when he moved to San Francisco and started doing psychic readings. At the age of eighteen, Welch began using astrological charts for more accuracy in the timing of his predictions.
Welch was raised in Stockton, CA, went to high school in Bakersfield, CA and moved to San Francisco, CA in 1963. Welch studied under spiritual teachers Reverend Pearl Shannon and he followed Edgar Cayce. He credited the teachings of Cayce as his greatest influence. He was a member of The Association for Research and Enlightenment since 1962.
Welch also studied astrology with well-known astrologer, Gavin Arthur (click here for Gavin Arthur memorial). He then moved to Sonoma in 1968, where he and his partner. Patrick Curry, opened Curry and I Antiques. While Curry operated a successful antique business, Welch did readings for many years from his spacious office in the back of the building.
After Gina Cerminara wrote "In Touch with His Soul, An Interview with Walden Welch" it was released in two installments in Psychic Magazine, June and July 1981. Welch not only became Dr. Cerminara's personal astrologer, but also her personal friend until her death in 1983.
Welch's career also included lecturing and appearing on radio and television shows. For five years, he hosted his own television shows, "Walden Welch, Astrologer," in San Raphael, CA and "Star Talk" in Santa Rosa, CA. In addition, he appeared several times on "The Merv Griffin Show" and "The Hillary Rose Program."
Walden Welch married his homosexual partner of 45 years on 19 June 2008, as soon as California law allowed it.
After suffering for years, he passed away in 2011 from congestive heart failure.
