Liane is the daughter of a father who is an artist, foreign born and raised in Paris, and a mother* who is a journalist and novelist. Her father died of ALS at age 56, 7/01/1976. As a youngster, she studied ballet. When she completed high school, George Balanchine ended her ballet career with three sentences, which was not as devastating as might be expected after she thought it through.
The first of three marriages produced two sons and later, two grandkids. In 1977, she worked in the minority community in politics: her marriage folded at that time and it was a difficult period.
