Biography
French jazz double-bassist, accordionist, singer-songwriter, poet and artist.
Vola played bass for Ray Ventura, Duke Ellington and singer Charles Trenet.
In 1934 he was a founding member of the Quintette du Hot Club de France ("QdHCdF"), which included guitarists Joseph and Django Reinhardt, violinist Stephane Grappelli and guitarist Roger Chaput.
He died on 15 August 1990 in Paris.
