Biography
American woman paralyzed from birth with a form of infantile paralysis, born to poor farmers. Good looking and bright, she is an avid reader and never idle. From the early polio, her neck muscles are heavy and her speech thick.
Tunison supported herself and her parents with her sales of paintings, sewing and embroidery done with her teeth and tongue. By age 30 she was the biggest wage-earner in the family.
