Biography
French naval officer and politician.
He finished his naval career in 1875 with the rank of Vice Admiral.
He was governor of Guadeloupe from 1857 to 1859, and commandant of the French resort of Levant from 1861 to 1863, and Chairman of Marine Works from 1865 to 1873.
He commanded the squadron of the Mediterranean from 1873 to 1875.
He died on 20 January 1879 in Paris.
