German actor in films and TV, starting with a theater debut in 1946. His films include "Wir Wunderkinder" 1958 and "Der Kapitan," 1971. He has appeared in a remarkable 280 TV productions.
On 2 May 2013, German TV channels announced the suppression of "Derrick" in their programs, imitated by French two weeks later. They argued that he had belonged to the Waffen SS. Died in 2008.
