Biography
Italian indologist, glottologist, philologist, scholar and bibliophile, who collected a rich specialist library. One part, which includes more than 500 works on history, religion, philology and Indian literature, the cultures of the Middle East and the Far East, is now preserved at the Library of Humanities Studies at the University of Pavia.
He died in Pavia on 9 March 1957, aged 75.
