Biography
German mathematician and mechanical engineering scientist, who published works on screw surfaces, minimal surfaces, the movement of rigid bodies (including geometric kinematics of gears and gear systems), joint mechanisms and ballistics.
Stübler studied in Tübingen, Göttingen, Berlin and Stuttgart from 1891 to 1899 and received his doctorate in Tübingen in 1902. In 1905 he became a private lecturer at the Stuttgart University of Technology, where he was an associate professor from 1910 to 1924. Then he went to the TH Charlottenburg in Berlin.
During the First World War he was with the artillery commission in Berlin.
Eugen Stübler died after a long, serious illness, on 15 December 1930 at the age of 57 in Berlin.
