Biography
Australian-Canadian attorney and professor and consultant, she specializes in medical ethics. The Samuel Gale Professor of Law as well as a faculty member in Medicine at McGill University, she established the university's Centre for Medicine, Ethics and Law. Her books include "The Ethical Canary: Science, Society, and the Human Spirit" (2000), and "Death Talk: the Case Against Euthanasia and Physician-Assisted Suicide" (2001).
She earned credentials in pharmacy and law in Sydney, Australia and in 1978 earned a D.C.L from McGill and later, other advanced degrees in science and law.
