Biography
Italian physician, whose most important studies refer to anchilostomy, leukemia and pseudoleucemia, the pathophysiology of lead poisoning, the pathology of war, jaundice-haemorrhagic spirochetosis, and emphysema. He died in Parma in a military hospital on 12 December 1917, aged 37, the victim of a form of hemorrhagic spirochetosis, an infection he contracted during his research on this disease.
