Biography
Sri Lanka's first Prime Minister, considered as the "Father of the Nation". He emerged as the leader of the Sri Lankan independence movement that led to the establishment of self-rule in Sri Lanka. He served as Prime Minister from the formation of an independent nation in 1948 until he died in office on 22 March 1952.
