Biography
Singaporean swimmer. He is the gold medalist in the 100 m butterfly at the 2016 Olympics, attaining Singapore's first ever Olympic gold. His winning time of 50.39 seconds is an Olympic, Asian, and national record.
When he was 13, he met swimmer Michael Phelps prior to the 2008 Summer Olympics and got his autograph. He would later beat Phelps in the 100 metres butterfly in an Olympic Record time at the 2016 Summer Olympics, winning gold. His time of 50.39 seconds was 0.75 seconds faster than the trio who tied for silver: American Michael Phelps, South African Chad le Clos and Hungarian László Cseh
