Biography
German ophthalmologist and well-known art collector, whose scientific work included studies on cataracts, punctate inflammation of the cornea, application of mercury oxide in ophthalmology, measurement of pupil width, extraction of iron splinters by means of magnets as well as the accommodation of lensless eyes and the assessment of general disorders by visual field examinations.
He died on 8 August 1925 in Schaftlach, aged 68.
