Biography
German entrepreneur, in whose Heilbronn paper mill in 1830 the first German and continental European paper machine was installed. The machine was built by Johann Jakob Widmann; the first such machine that was designed and built in Europe outside of England. The paper machine proved so successful that Schaeuffelen became the most important representative of the Heilbronn paper industry in the nation. Gustav Schaeuffelen died in Heilbronn on 17 April 1848 at age 49.
