Biography
Italian mathematician who wrote various books on geometry, rational mechanics and physics-mathematics. Among other things, he characterized the motions of a perfect fluid dependent on two coordinates alone and dealt with the deformations of an elastic sphere (Earth) under the action of Newtonian forces. He also worked on symbolic calculations.
He died in Genoa on 23 October 1958, aged 67.
