Costa Rican essayist and educator. He studied at the School of Law of Costa Rica, but did not graduate. He was exiled in Nicaragua during the regime of President Federico Tinoco Granados, during which his brother Carlos Sancho Jimenez was killed in 1918. He was Confidential Agent of Costa Rica in Nicaragua (1920), Consul of Costa Rica in Boston (1920- 1930) and Charge d'Affaires and Consul General of Costa Rica in Mexico (1930-1932). In 1932 he was elected as a member of the Costa Rican Language Academy to fill the vacant seat D on the death of Don Manuel Maria de Peralta and Alfaro (1930), but resigned in 1938 without taking possession. He taught at the Colegio San Luis Gonzaga of Cartago and in several universities in the United States.
He died in 1948.
