Biography
Belgian chemist, teacher and author of the 1897 book, Les Théories physico-chimiques (Outlines of Physical Chemistry, translated into English by John McCrae, 1899). In 1894 he had been appointed an extraordinary professor for the newly introduced subject of physicochemistry at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. He died in 1938.
