Biography
Reinartz was born in Engelskirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia. He came through the ranks at Bayer Leverkusen and but did not play any games for them in the 2008–09 season. He made his professional debut in the Second Division while on loan with 1. FC Nuremberg on 9 February 2009 when he started a match against 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
After returning from Nuremberg, Reinartz was given a chance to prove himself and made his competitive debut for Bayer on 31 July 2009 against SV Babelsberg in the German Cup. During the 2009–10 season, he eventually cemented his place as a holding midfielder and scored his first senior goal on 6 November in the 4–0 home win against Eintracht Frankfurt.
He was a regular for the U21's in their bid to make the 2011 European Championships.
