Biography
Italian champion cyclist. A pro since 1992, he rode for Polti in the 1996 Giro d'Italia, taking stage seven and with it the maglia rosa. He finished the Grand Tour sixth overall. On 29 April 2009, he was given a 2-year suspension for testing positive for CERA at the 2008 Olympic Games.
