Biography
French nun and supercentenarian born in a Protestant family, she has been the oldest living person in France since the death of Honorine Rondello on 19 October 2017, and the second-oldest in the world.
Now retired in a nursing home in Toulon, she served as governess and teacher in Marseille. She moved to Paris as clergywoman (Fille de la Charité) as Sister André, a tribute to her dead brother André, and then she worked at the hospital of Vichy where she helped war orphans.
She is the eighth oldest verified person and second oldest verified French person ever. She is also the oldest person known to have been infected with COVID-19, which she recovered from, without any symptoms, after testing positive for it days before her 117th birthday.
She had a twin sister, Lydie (11 February 1904--4 August 1905), born at 5:00 AM.
