Biography
American missing person presumed dead. One day in 1977, young Deborah put on her cheerleading jacket, left a note for her parents, hopped on her bicycle to visit her grandmother and disappeared. The date is carved in her parents’ memory: May 3, 1977, the last time anyone saw their beautiful child alive, when she was spotted riding her bike along a pond in her hometown of Townsend, MA. She has never been found and no one knows what happened. On June 15, 2004, police received an anonymous letter advising them to examine the waters of the pond. They had received a similar letter the previous year but scouring the pond revealed nothing. After the receipt of the second letter, they combed the area, dredged the pond, excavated its bottom and examined potential evidence and have not yet found any conclusive evidence of what might have befallen the then-13-year-old. The anonymous letters are being analyzed by the FBI.
