Biography
Spanish urologist who in 1943 founded an Institute of Urology with a school of urological specialization that later became the Puigvert Foundation. He made important contributions to urology, and invented numerous surgical instruments such as the Béniqué catheter, the prostatoperineal surgery scale, the 20 ml syringe for screw-threaded propulsion and special adjustments for the ureter probes (known as the tutor probe of Puigvert), the unequal handle clamp, the double spacer and the dissection and suture clamp.
He died in Barcelona in 1990.
