Biography
French physician, histologist and medico-scientific writer, who was the first to suggest that the corpus luteum (a temporary endocrine structure in female ovaries) acts as a gland of internal secretion. He was a professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Paris and member of the Academy of Medicine. He was the father of zoologist and parasitologist, Marcel Prenant (1893-1983). He died in Paris on 28 September 1927, aged 65.
