Biography
Italian ecclesiastic and Pope of the Roman Catholic Church, elected 2/06/1922. Nicknamed "the scientific pope" he was active and bossy with great vitality and optimism. At his death on 2/10/1939, Rome, it was suspected that his doctor gave him a lethal dose of poison to relieve his suffering.
Pius XI is responsible for the creation of the Vatican state on February 11, 1929 when he signed the Lateran Treaty with the Fascist government.
