Biography
American painter who was continually committed to colour, though his work itself ranges from the realistic to the highly stylized.
He was also a teacher. Many of his students, including Richard Anuszkiewicz, Robert Joy, John Vahanian, Vitus Kaiser, George Gaadt, Robert Gerbracht, and John Silk Deckard went on to garner national and international fame.
Plavcan died on 7 February 1981, aged 72, in Erie, Pennsylvania.
