Biography
Italian swimmer. Like Laure Manaudou, her great opponent, she has been coached by French Philippe Lucas. She won a silver medal in the 2004 Olympics and the gold one in 2008, on the 200m freestyle. Still competing in 2014, "La Pellegrini" became the first woman to breach the 4 minutes barrier in the 400m freestyle (2009).
She dated swimmers: Luca Marin (after Manaudou) and then Magnini.
