Biography
Spanish soprano singer. As a prodigy, she debuted on stage at age eight in New York, 11/24/1851. Her London debut was in 1861 and her Milan debut in 1877. Though brilliantly gifted in music, she was not known for her acting abilities. She retired in 1895.
Patti died 9/27/1919, Wales. According to the Cone biography cited in the source notes, her death occurred in her castle Criag-y-Nos at South Wales: "the morning [of that date] she lost consciousness. She lingered thus for several hours and died peacefully" (p. 263).
