Peruvian poet, considered one of the most outstanding exponents of contemporary poetry in his country, along with compatriots Jose Maria Eguren, Cesar Vallejo, Adam Martin and César Moro, among others. He is generally recognized by his only book of poetry 5 Metros de Poemas, first published in 1927, which is an accordion book or pop-up book which extends to approximately 5 m in length when fully opened. He died on 6 March 1936 at age 30 in Guadarrama, Spain.
