Biography
French chef and owner of the 3 Michelin Star 'Le Grand Véfour' restaurant in Paris, one of France's great historical restaurants. Oliver detested the nouvelle cuisine, preferring the rich ingredients favored by the chefs in his native Gascony. In his later years, Oliver hosted a popular cooking show on television.
He died on 5 November 1990, aged 81, in Paris.
