Biography
American sprinter who won three gold medals at the 1956 Olympics where he was also the leader of the American sprint team. He has been called "the dominant sprinter of the 1950s" and "the most relaxed sprinter of all time, even more so than his hero Jesse Owens".
He won three gold medals at the Melbourne games of 1956 for the 100 metre, 200 metre & 4x400 metre relay events. He was the first sprinter since Jesse Owens in 1936 to win gold medals in those three events.
Morrow married twice. He died of natural causes on 30 May 2020 at his home in San Benito, Texas at the age of 84.
