Biography
Swiss-Argentine anthropologist, ethnologist and human rights leader, who in 1947 was assigned to UNESCO, becoming a permanent member of UNESCO's Department of Social Science in 1950.
Alfred Métraux took his own life by an overdose of barbiturates on 12 April 1963, aged 60, in Paris.
