Biography
Scottish actor whose portrayal of Alasdair Roy McGregor in the film Rob Roy (1995) brought him to wide public attention in Britain and the United States.
He appears in Jon Baird's Filth (2013), based on the Irvine Welsh novel of the same name, playing Dougie Gillman and as Jacob Engstrand in Richard Eyre's production of Henrik Ibsen's Ghosts at the Almeida Theatre which transferred to The Trafalgar Studios in London's West End, then to New York. He also played James Connolly, a Leader of the 1916 Irish Rising, in RTÉ's Rebellion (2016).
