German royalty, a Princess of Brandenburg and a Regent of Simmern (1655-1658).
Her parents were Elector Joachim Frederick of Brandenburg (1546-1608) and his second wife, Eleanor of Prussia (1583-1607).
On 4 December 1631 she married Louis Philip, Count Palatine of Simmern-Kaiserslautern (1602-1655).
Marie Eleonore died on 18 February 1675. She outlived her seven children, two of whom survived to adulthood: Elisabeth Marie Charlotte (1638–1664) and Ludwig Heinrich Moritz (1640–1674).
