Renowned Peruvian poet. While belongs to the generation of the seventies, his poetry moved away from its earliest texts of conversational discourse of the time, opting for a unique way of recognized originality. He spent his early years in Collique, which at that time was a non-urban agricultural area, since his father was director of the sanatorium tisiólogo Collique; in those years, that institution was suffering from tuberculosis. He began his school years in La Inmaculada. At seven he moved to Arequipa and studied at the Colegio San José; in 1968 he returned to Lima and completed his secondary education at Immaculate. In 1970, he entered San Marcos with the idea of studying medicine, but leaned in General Studies from the literature that had been interested since childhood. In 1973 he moved to Bogota, Colombia and studied literature at the Javeriana University. In 1978, upon his return to Peru, he joined the group La Sagrada Familia which was removed too soon to start his own poetic way. He has also done graduate studies in Madrid in 1990. Since 1978 he works as a university professor at the University of Lima.
