Biography
French veterinarian and microbiologist, known internationally for his scientific achievements in veterinary medicine, and for the organization of veterinary education and of the French veterinary services. He was also the initiator of the OIE (International Office of Epizootics), now known as the World Organization for Animal Health, for the global fight against animal diseases.
He died on 26 November 1953 in Paris, aged 92.
