Biography
French physician and anthropologist whose most important work was Anthropologie de la France (Anthropology of France) published in 1879. He devoted himself almost exclusively to anthropology, hygiene and demography. Apart from an important work on syphilitic diseases of the nervous system, he has also published numerous memoirs inserted in the Annales d'Hygiène, in the General Archives of Medicine and in the Bulletins and Memoirs of the Society of Anthropology of Paris.
He died on 25 August 1896 in Paris, aged 69.
