Biography
German medical pioneer, a surgeon in Zwickau whose blocking of the plexus brachialis, described in 1911, opened up the field of anaesthesia. He previously performed a successful two stage marsupialization in September 1881, reporting it in 1882. He died in 1963 or 1967.
