Biography
American serial killer who was found guilty 5/12/1989 of 18 counts of murder in the first degree, and suspected of as many as 67 victims.
He perpetrated the sadistic mutilation-torture murders of male Caucasians between 17-25 with similar physical characteristics; mostly Marines, mostly gay, who had been strangled, shot, decapitated, sodomized, burned, had body parts cut off or foreign objects brutally shoved into orifices and left.
Bodies were found along the San Diego Freeway near El Toro Marine Base.
Stopped by the police for erratic driving 5/14/1983 in Mission Viejo, CA, he was found to have a dead Marine propped up beside him in the front seat. His method was to invite a gay Marine for a beer and then drug it. He kept mementos: clothes, photos of corpses and a notebook filled with descriptions.
Former Air Force with a "medical" discharge (gay), he had a high IQ and worked as a computer programmer. As of 1991, he was living on Death Row.
