Biography
American inventor and engineer who, in 1911, invented the automobile self-starter and later the ignition system that was known as Delco. Kettering was the Director of General Motors research laboratories for more than 25 years. He also worked on inventions such as the electric cash register, ethyl gas, a high combustion auto engine and more.
Kettering died 11/25/1958 in Dayton, OH.
