Biography
American mathematician who worked on algebraic geometry, proving the Riemann–Kempf singularity theorem, the Kempf–Ness theorem, the Kempf vanishing theorem, and who introduced Kempf varieties.
He died on 16 July 2002 at age 57 in Lawrence, Kansas.
