Biography
Australian writer, a journalist, speechwriter, science communicator for the CSIRO and a political advisor to the former Queensland Premier and Deputy Premier.
Hoge was born with a tumour stretching down his face, a lump the size of his newborn fist. He had plastic surgeries to reshape his face but, because they carried a high risk of blindness or death, at age 14 he decided on no more surgery. He has written of his experiences in his autobiography "Ugly: My Memoir."
