Biography
German sculptor and architect, known for designing an elongated block of houses in Berlin-Lichtenberg in 1931. His design was extremely advanced at the time. The buildings were oriented in a north-south direction and thus provided for optimal sunlight. All apartments had their own bathroom.
During his career Henning created a variety of modern residential complexes in Berlin. He worked together with Walter Gropius and Hans Scharoun at the large estate of Siemensstadt.
As a sculptor, Henning is known for expressionist works. He died on 11 October 1986 in Berlin, aged 100.
