Biography
Dutch politician who served as Prime Minister of the Netherlands from 1874 to 1877, and again from 1883 to 1888. His son, Theo Heemskerk also served as Prime Minister.
Heemskerk died on 9 October 1897, at the age of 79, in The Hague.
