German lawyer and politician noted as a member of the German Reichstag from 1898 to 1903.
Haußmann was the son of merchant Julius Haußmann and the twin brother of politician Conrad Haußmann. Together with his brother, he attended the Eberhard-Ludwigs-Gymnasium in Stuttgart and the universities of Zurich, Munich, Berlin and Tübingen.
In 1883 he settled in Stuttgart as a lawyer. From 1885, he formed the leadership of the People's Party in Württemberg together with his brother and Friedrich Payer. From 1891 to 1906 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Württemberg Parliament and from 1898 to 1903 a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Württemberg 4 (Böblingen, Vaihingen, Leonberg, Maulbronn) and the German People's Party.
Haußmann had diabetes. He died of pneumonia in Stuttgart on 22 November 1907 at age 50.
