Biography
American pro baseball pitcher.
Hehas played in the American League for nine years and the National League for one year as of 1998. After attending Wake Forest College, he was selected by the Montreal Expos organization in the seventh round free-agent draft pick 6/06/1983.
Hanson did not sign with the Expos and was picked-up by the Seattle Mariners in a free-agent draft pick 6/02/1986.
He has played with the Cincinnati Reds, the Boston Red Sox and the Toronto Blue Jays and has been placed on the disabled list six times with rehabilitation assignments in the AAA League.
Statistically, Hanson has pitched a 5-0 no-hit victory over Calgary 8/21/1988, scored as a pinch-hitter and became a designated hitter, even though he made no plate appearance in that position in the 1993 season. In 1995, he pitched in the Division Series and was a member of the All-Star Game, even though he didn't pitch. At 6' 6", 215 lbs., he throws right and bats right.
