Biography
French author. Poet from an early age, son of a small farmer, Emile Guillaumin was modest peasant himself. He scored his time by the force of his writings. The realism of his novels described the miserable social condition of the peasantry and of workers of Bourbonnais.
His most famous novel is The Life of a Simple Man.
He died 27 September 1951.
