Biography
American pro baseball pitcher.
He signed with the Kansas City Royals in the second round free-agent draft pick 6/08/1981. After attending William Penn Charter college in Philadelphia, he signed with the Royals and moved from there to play with the St. Louis Cardinals, Anaheim Angels and the Los Angeles Dodgers 1/12/1998.
Gubicza (pronounced GOO-ba-zah) has played in the American League for 14 years as of 1998 and was placed on the disabled list for short periods of time in '82, '86, '90, '91, '96 and 1997.
Statistically he has pitched a 7-0 one-hit, complete-game victory against Oakland 6/15/1995, has played in the Championship Series game and the World Series game in 1985 and pitched in two All-Star games. At 6' 5", 230 lbs., he throws right and bats right.
