Biography
French surgeon who developed various surgical techniques in digestive surgery, which earned him election to the Academy of Medicine, Surgery Section (1928) and then to the Academy of Sciences in 1934. He practised mainly at the The Salpetriere, where a building received his name.
He died in Paris on 23 October 1944, aged 72.
