Biography
One of the "Last of the Philippines". Labrador Young, enlists in the army and is destined to Philippine Expeditionary Battalion of Hunters No. 2. At the age of 22, between 30 June 1898 and 2 June 1899, he participated in the Siege of Baler a siege that underwent his detachment by Filipino insurgents in the village church of Baler. On 28 July 1899, embarks along with the rest of the survivors in the port of Manila and arrives at Barcelona on 1 September.
After the War of the Philippines became involved in political and social life of Fuerteventura, becoming twice mayor of his hometown (the first time during the Second Republic and the second during the Franco regime).
At his death on 25 October 1963, he received a funeral as a war hero, attended by all the civil and military authorities of the island.
