Brazilian singer, composer, arranger and producer of contemporary Christian music, a member of a family of musicians connected to the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He lived many years abroad, still in his childhood, passing through the United States, England and Germany. His work with music began when he was young, participating in the Young Choir of IASP and Tom de Vida. He was part of the group Novo Tom, with which he released the album O Melhor Lugar do Mundo (The Best Place in the World) in 2001. Then he left the band to pursue a solo career.
His first record was Poemas e Canções, released in 2002. Five years later, he produced Viver e Cantar, with which he was nominated in various categories of the Talento Trophy and began expanding his music to the general public. In 2010, after finding that he was Jewish, he released Avinu Malkenu, recorded in Hebrew and Aramaic. Princípio e Fim, released in 2012 by Sony Music Brasil, gave strength to his musical career, especially through the songs "Novo" and "Sublime" and was acclaimed by critics. He recorded the live debut album Princípio (2014), in addition to several collaborations with other artists, singles and an EP soundtrack of the evangelical films Você Acredita? and Ressurreição.
Leonardo Gonçalves married singer and composer Daniela Araújo in 2009 and they broke up in 2015. In November 2018, Gonçalves married Glauce Cunha, a TV music show presenter.
